EventFuel LLC was founded by Jim Furuya, a former electrical engineer who started out a volunteer but soon found a passion and a profession in working events.

Jim was a Program and Event Manager for the 500 Festival, a civic not-for-profit organization that produces events and programs that celebrate the success of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race for seven years. Jim managed the online registration and customer service; the Expo and Packet Pick-up; and the finish line / runners' services area for the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon. The Mini-Marathon is the largest half-marathon in the country with over 35,000 participants and 4000 volunteers.

Concurrent to his Mini-Marathon responsibilities, Jim managed the 500 Festival's kid's run with nearly 3,000 kids ages 3 to 12 years old. In addition to running events, Jim also created and managed an award winning fourth grade Education Program with over 92,600 Indiana fourth students participating during the first five years of the program. Jim also managed a Memorial Day weekend Memorial Service honoring all of the Indiana military fallen. He has been the race-day logistics co-chair for the Komen Indianapolis Race for the Cure for over 10 years.

Jim has extensive technical and project management experience in road racing and events ranging from educational programs to kids' runs and marathons. EventFuel has provided event support for running events, bicycle rides, health and fitness expos, tradeshows, exclusive parties and televised award banquets.
